Twin Telepathy and Rooftop Dreams

Ali and Abdullah Shashtri, twins from Palestine and Jordan, have built their lives around creativity, humour, and the joy of storytelling. Both studied media and have turned their shared passion into a full-time pursuit of family-friendly, humorous, and satirical content creation. But their twin journey goes beyond social media they are also the founders of Twinsip, a rooftop project in Khalda, Amman, where people gather, connect, and share ideas.

The Shashtri Twins have always shared a natural bond, but they also delight in their differences. Ali describes Abdullah as calm, smart, and witty, while Abdullah sees Ali as patient, positive, and diplomatic. Though Abdullah is the mischievous twin, often plotting pranks, Ali has naturally taken on the role of the peacemaker, balancing their dynamic with patience and calm leadership.

Growing up, they embraced the magic of being twins. One unforgettable memory involves Abdullah sitting two university exams at the same time one of which Ali attempted on his behalf. “Unfortunately, I failed the course,” Ali laughs, recalling the risky twin swap.

While many expect twins to be mirror images, the Shashtri Twins often surprise people with their individuality. Abdullah, despite his quiet nature, is known for his clever pranks and playful spirit. They both agree that being twins is a rare blessing what they treasure most is having someone who understands them instantly, without needing to explain. However, being twins also comes with its challenges, the biggest one being constant comparison from others.

Their birthdays are always celebrated together, and they make it a point to create unique memories each year. If they could swap one trait, Ali would gladly take Abdullah’s remarkable calmness, while Abdullah would love to possess Ali’s extraordinary patience.

Despite their busy lives, staying close has never been difficult. They live and work together, and they emphasise that constant communication is key. Their partnership extends to their business, Twinsip, which stands as a symbol of their shared vision.

The twins have their fair share of funny stories. Ali recalls a time when someone started a long conversation with him, thinking he was Abdullah, only for the situation to become awkward when the mix-up was finally revealed. Such moments have become part of their lives, and they now enjoy these instances with humour.

When asked who would play them in a film, Abdullah chose Ahmed Malek, and Ali picked Ahmed Dash, both prominent actors capable of capturing their energy and character.

Through Twinship, they’ve combined their strengths to build something unique – a space where people can feel at home, connect, and experience something new. It’s an entrepreneurial venture that reflects their creativity and their commitment to building a community.

One common stereotype they like to debunk is the idea that twins are identical in everything. “We may look similar, but our personalities are very different,” they assert.

The craziest thing they’ve done together? Starting a business from scratch something they say neither of them could have achieved alone. Their journey has been one of mutual support, balance, and laughter.

In their rapid-fire round, both Ali and Abdullah revealed their playful side. Yes, they’ve occasionally pretended to be each other, especially in social settings. They always celebrate their birthdays together and sometimes intentionally dress alike for special occasions. They both admit they compete fiercely in games and sports but say this competition is part of the fun. They also agree they would happily choose to be twins again in another life.

When disagreements arise, neither twin tends to apologise directly they simply move on, a testament to their deep understanding and strong bond.

For the Shashtri Twins, twinship is a life filled with shared goals, constant laughter, and an unbreakable connection. Their story is one of family, creativity, and a partnership that continues to grow both in life and in business.
