The Spanish children’s footwear brand LMDI Collection has recently presented its new Spring-Summer 2022 Collection, Atlantic Coast, in which it pays tribute to the days of beach, surf and skate in Galicia. In addition to its well-known cowboy boots, clogs and espadrilles, new sandals with nautical knots, moccasins, jelly sandals and other footwear options perfect for the summer season have been added. The collection was inspired by the beaches of Razo, Pantín, Patos, Doniños, Sabón, A Lanzada in O Grove and Rodas in the Cíes Islands, and this season also includes a selection of 100% cotton sweatshirts, which are a must on any northern beach, and accessories such as fisherman’s hats, vynil visors, baseball caps and organic cotton bags to complete any look.
Atlantic Coast is a nod to the lifestyle of skateboarders and surfers. Mercedes and Carmen Zaldívar, who founded LMDI Collection in 2016, wanted to show that way of life so well known and valued by sun and adrenaline lovers, between the natural and the urban, masterfully mixing styles as different as grunge aesthetics of the 90s with back-to-school pieces. A collection that mixes the main trends of the season including fabrics such as suede, leather, rustic fibres, organic cottons and all dyes are herbal or plant-based with no chemicals, for a very natural footwear. The collection is available from size 20 for boys and girls to size 41 for women.
Inspired by the Atlantic ocean and developed in the Mediterranean coast, LMDI Collection is 100% Spanish footwear. All its collections are produced in Spain, in small workshops with the best craftsmen in the sector. Footwear that is made by hand, one by one, and based on three basic pillars: quality, comfort and durability. This fact has led the Galician brand to become a benchmark in the footwear sector.
“The success came along with the phenomenon of social networks and our firm commitment to a more ecological way of producing, recovering local craftsmanship. We make simple but elegant designs, timeless and with top quality materials. And we produce 100% in Spain. So we went from selling exclusively in our shop in Pontevedra to selling in Australia, Japan, Korea, China, the Middle East, United Kingdom, most of the EU and the US”, says Carmen Zaldívar, who is in charge of the brand’s international expansion.
