DRIES VAN NOTEN BEAUTY NEON GARDEN

“How do you feel when you walk in a garden? How can you translate a certain feeling, a certain emotion?” are questions Dries has been exploring in his collections for decades. Previously woven into the subconscious of the designer’s vision, now scent – and more importantly, how it makes us feel – is front and centre in this collection of fragrances.

A walk in Dries’ garden and immersion in his world sparked the inspiration of the leading international perfumers he invited to co-create. Each interprets and shares their own creative vision of the brand’s unexpected olfactive universe. The result? Contradictory, rule- breaking, game-changing genderless fragrances which still pay homage to traditional perfumery gestures with bottles inspired by apothecary vials. This traditionally modern collection includes classic eaux de colognes, soap bars and scented creams in impossible combinations that coexist beautifully.

Neon Garden is a colour block featuring a neon green base with sky blue glass. “There is a baffling harmony through the fusion of contradictory ideas. I wanted to express unconventional classicism through using orris, from iris root, which is so elegant and haute couture. But I wanted to shake it, to heckle it, with the energy of mint.” — Fanny Bal, the perfumer behind the scent.

The house design codes of counterpoint and contrast are vividly reflected in the fragrance bottles and lipstick vials creating a striking visual statement through the playful use of juxtaposed materials, patterns and textures. Each bottle, an object of beauty itself, is a translation of the fragrance’s duality. Discover amazing and unlikely combinations of materials with many industry firsts that celebrate craftsmanship and industrial innovations that provoke sensorial surprise and delight. Every gesture, from the opening of a perfume bottle to the twisting of a lipstick, inspires a magical journey into Dries’ world: expect the unexpected.

ROCK THE MYRRH
A crafted masterpiece made of French hand-painted porcelain combined with amber glass.

“Inspired by The Dries Van Noten Parisian boutique with its elegant and precious textures, the eclectic and mystical atmosphere that reigns gave inspired the idea of an adorned myrrh. It is here, an overdose of myrrh is joined by resins of benzoin and cistus dressed up with delights of cypress and pink pepper.” — Amélie Jacquin

SOIE MALAQUAIS
A seductive and unique porcelain piece inspired by Delft blue combined with a dark burgundy glass.

“I fell in love with Dries’ silk dresses in his Quai Malaquais boutique. The texture was so fluid it seemed to merge with the skin, which gave me the idea for a silky, enveloping perfume. It’s a balmy gourmand mix of chestnut with sensual, silky vanilla.” — Marie Salamagne
