Yasmin Mansour pioneers one of the premier luxury womenswear labels rooted in Qatar, drawing inspiration from Arab culture and traditional women’s attire. Established by Qatari designer Yasmin Mansour in 2014, the brand aims to empower women through sustainable, distinctive designs. Embodying femininity with a bold flair, Mansour’s creations have garnered admiration from regional luminaries such as Raya Abirached and Tara Emad.

Our lifestyle editor, José Berrocoso, recently had an insightful conversation with Yasmin Mansour, delving into her personal journey, the dynamic fashion landscape of the Middle East, and the future trajectory of her esteemed brand.

What motivated you to start your own business? Why fashion?

Starting my own business in the fashion industry stemmed from my passion for fashion and creativity. From a Young age I was always drawn to the arts, fashion, and simply the ability to create. I remember watching classical movies and being attracted to the architecture elements and fashion pieces. I knew it was my calling and what I wanted to do. I wanted to bring my visions to life.

How would you describe the essence of your brand and the signature style that sets it apart in the industry?
The essence of Yasmin Mansour is rooted in creating timeless pieces which hold a story. Each piece is carefully designed to express originality and sophistication, setting it apart in the industry. Our signature style is characterized by its ability to resonate with people on a deeper level, evoking intrigue and emotions.

Luxury is also about storytelling a brand has to tell a story. What is your story?
The narrative of our brand is a reflection of the ethos of femininity, resilience, and empowerment. It services as a homage to the diverse facets of women, embodying their beauty, strength and confidence.

Can you walk us through your creative process when conceptualizing and designing anew collection?
When conceptualizing and designing a new collection, my creative process is a journey of exploration and innovation. It begins by drawing inspiration from the worlds of architecture, art, and the cultural influences around me. With an idea and a vision I follow into exploring the fabric choices and color schemes evaluating the options accurately representing my visioin. Lastly, the vision is brought to life through the photoshoots which give the creations a sense of narrative and allure.

What influences or inspirations do you draw upon when creating your designs?
My main influences come from the worlds of architecture, art, and culture. They hold a wealth of concepts and visual languages that strive my creative process. Travel also plays a pivotal role in exploring these worlds, allowing me to immerse myself in different cultures and architectural wonders.

How do you approach sustainability and ethical practices within your fashion brand?
Sustainability and ethical practices are integral to our brand. We prioritize more responsible production methods steering away from mass production. All while embracing a circular business model, where we make use of deadstock fabric, minimizing waste while channeling innovation.

We love the powerful, elegant vibes from your latest collections. How would you describe it?
Our latest collections embody a sense of power and elegance, characterized by the strong silhouettes, Sharp edges, and a refined color palette. A testament to the modern woman, unapologetically bold and confident.

What makes your brand and your products desirable?
What sets our brand and products apart i sour commitment to blur the lines between fashion and art. Each piece created is not merely a garment, but rather a wearable masterpiece.

Can you discuss any upcoming projects, collaborations, or initiatives that you’re particularly excited about?
Looking ahead, we are excited to soon unveil a new sustainable tote bag completely made of canvas launching for this summer, along with our SS25 collection which will be launching in September.
