Fatma Al-Qallaf – Finalist of EmpowerHER 2025

Elevating cleaning into a science – empowering a new standard of skill and professionalism.

For Fatma Al-Qallaf, entrepreneurship began not with a product, but with a perspective. She looked at cleaning – an everyday task often overlooked or undervalued and saw potential for transformation. What others viewed as routine, she saw as a reflection of care, structure, and wellbeing. That insight led her to establish CleanCare Kuwait, the country’s first professional cleaning and organization company that goes beyond service to offer education, training, and empowerment.

“What I wanted,” Fatma explains, “was to change how people perceive cleaning not as a chore, but as part of a healthy, balanced lifestyle.” What started as a small homegrown idea soon evolved into a national success story. Today, CleanCare serves homes, hotels, and corporate clients across Kuwait, setting new standards for professionalism, hygiene, and human development.

For Fatma, empowerment is not loud; it’s steady and self-assured. “Empowerment, to me, is quiet confidence, trusting yourself to create opportunities for your own growth and for others,” she says. At the heart of her company’s success lies that philosophy. CleanCare is as much about people as it is about process. Beyond offering top-tier cleaning solutions, Fatma built a system for training and upskilling workers, especially women and domestic staff to enhance their skills, professionalism, and self-worth. “When you give someone the tools to grow,” she says, “you don’t just change their job; you change their life.”

Innovation, she believes, is the foundation of progress and it’s what makes her work truly distinctive. “Innovation isn’t just about technology; it’s about doing things differently, smarter, and better,” she notes. At CleanCare, innovation takes shape in customized cleaning programs, new training techniques, and efficient client systems that make the company dynamic and adaptable. Her forward-thinking mindset keeps CleanCare evolving with the changing needs of modern living.

One of the milestones she treasures most came early in her journey, the first time she trained a full hotel cleaning team. “Watching them grow in confidence was powerful,” she recalls. “Their posture, their pride, it was clear this was more than work. It was transformation.” That moment, she says, defined her purpose: CleanCare wasn’t just a business, but a platform for empowerment.

Of course, the path to success wasn’t without resistance. “At first, it was strange for people to see a Kuwaiti woman talking about cleaning as a science,” Fatma admits. “It took time and persistence to change that mindset.” She faced skepticism, but through professionalism, credibility, and consistency, she reshaped perceptions. Today, CleanCare has become a trusted brand, recognized not only for its excellence but also for elevating an entire industry. “We turned a humble field into one of respect and opportunity,” she says proudly.

Her approach to leadership is grounded and practical. “I’m a hands-on leader,” she says. “I like to be in the field, observing, guiding, and learning. That’s where the best ideas come from.” Balancing creativity, leadership, and strategy, Fatma relies on clarity of purpose to align her team and mission. “When your goals are clear, everything else follows.”

The impact of her work extends far beyond the business. Through CleanCare, she’s reshaped how Kuwait views cleanliness and organization, not as luxury, but as a lifestyle. Her team’s workshops and training programs empower individuals, promote awareness, and instil a sense of pride in their craft. “We’re not just cleaning spaces,” she says. “We’re building confidence, structure, and dignity.”

Her inspiration comes from her mother, whose love for order and attention to detail shaped her early values. “My mother taught me that discipline and care go hand in hand,” Fatma reflects. She also draws motivation from other Kuwaiti women who started small and built great things with persistence and vision.

Today, Fatma is preparing for CleanCare’s next phase: digital expansion. The company is developing online training programs, virtual workshops, and interactive guides to help families bring structure and calm into their homes. “My goal is to make our message that cleaning and organizing can change your lifestyle, accessible to everyone, even beyond Kuwait.”

Being part of Porsche’s EmpowerHER initiative has reaffirmed her belief in the power of shared stories. “It reminded me that empowerment grows when women support each other,” she says. “Our experiences can inspire others to believe in what’s possible.”

Her advice to aspiring entrepreneurs is simple yet profound: “Don’t wait for perfect conditions. Start where you are, with what you have. Every setback carries a lesson. Stay consistent, stay authentic, and never stop learning.”

Through her work, Fatma Al-Qallaf has proven that empowerment can begin in the most unexpected places even with a mop, a plan, and a purpose. CleanCare is more than a cleaning company; it’s a movement redefining professionalism, pride, and possibility for women in Kuwait.
