HE Sheikha Abrar Al Sabah to boost Kuwait’s media position in Egypt’s entertainment initiatives
Driven by her mission to foster Kuwait’s regional position in the media and entertainment industry, Founder of Abbey’s Productions, Her Excellency Sheikha Abrar Al Sabah, arrived in El Gouna, Egypt on the 21st of October to spend a week of meetings with regional industry players, conduce strategic initiatives, and attend the El Gouna Film Festival 7th edition.
Al Sabah’s trip focused on fostering Kuwait’s regional position in today’s Arab media and entertainment industry through active efforts in building collaborations with key industry drivers. Negotiations and initial agreements carried during her trip aimed to pave the way for Kuwaiti artists, filmmakers, producers, and fashion designers to strengthen their presence in the regional sphere.
Al Sabah’s trip included high-level meetings with the C-suites of El Gouna and leading players in the ‘Orient of Hollywood’. Meetings held with El Gouna were attended by the Chief Executive Officer, Mohamed Amer, Chief Commercial Officer, Mohamed Ashour, Egypt’s renowned entrepreneur and the Gouna Film Festival Co-Founder and Executive Director, Amr Mansi.
“Fostering Kuwait’s global position in the media and entertainment industry has always been my ultimate goal. I was thrilled to witness the GFF’s team acknowledgment of Kuwait’s valuable position in the industry and their keenness in involving Kuwait on many levels in their upcoming initiatives,” said HE Sheikha Abrar Al Sabah.

Pivotally, she met with various key players in the film industry such as the Founder of Egypt’s Film Clinic, Mohamed Hefzy to support Kuwait’s filmmakers in integrating the regional media and entertainment media scene.
“The presence of Kuwait in this golden field has to be supported by our nation’s officials and Kuwait’s private sector. There needs to be a more significant role for Kuwait on a regional and global scale in this industry. We have so many talents and aspiring writers, directors, and filmmakers who deserve to be acknowledged in such events, and guided to reach markets beyond the Gulf,” she added.
Her Excellency mentioned that her trip came in to explore potential opportunities of collaboration with key players in the industry to strengthen Kuwait’s position in this sector on a regional scale.
“Since the establishment of Abbey’s Productions, I took it upon myself to promote Kuwait’s position in the media and entertainment sector given the lucrative economic impact that it would have on our nation. And now, it is time for a more significant action and display my commitment towards Kuwait’s global positioning,” asserted Al Sabah.
