Leading eco-friendly innovation and transforming sustainability into a lifestyle movement across Kuwait.

For Maryam Khajah, entrepreneurship was born from a shared vision to turn ordinary celebrations into something extraordinary. “We believed that celebrations should be more than events; they should be experiences that reflect beauty, connection, and meaning,” she says. Alongside two fellow Kuwaiti women who shared her creative passion, Maryam co-founded Masaraat, an event design and management brand that redefines how Kuwait celebrates life’s most cherished moments. What started as a simple idea quickly evolved into a thriving platform that not only brings joy to clients but also uplifts Kuwait’s creative community.
From the beginning, Masaraat was built on purpose to blend elegance with empowerment. The founders envisioned a brand that would spotlight local talent while setting new standards for design and experience. “We saw a gap in the market,” Maryam explains. “There was beauty, but often without soul; scale, but not always connection. We wanted to create something that touched hearts and inspired others in the creative field.”

For Maryam, empowerment has always been the foundation of her leadership. “Empowerment means trusting your voice, owning your journey, and helping others rise with you,” she says. Personally, it represents courage, the courage to take risks, to fail, and to try again with even more clarity. Professionally, it’s about building an ecosystem where women feel valued and capable, where collaboration replaces competition. “True empowerment isn’t about standing alone,” she adds. “It’s about lifting others as you move forward.”
Among Porsche’s values of excellence, innovation, and performance, it is excellence that resonates most deeply with her. “Excellence isn’t perfection,” she says, “it’s dedication, the pursuit of quality in every detail.” At Masaraat, that translates into crafting unforgettable experiences where every flower, fabric, and lighting choice tells a story. Each event becomes a reflection of purpose, beauty, and emotion. “When our clients walk in and their eyes fill with tears of joy that’s excellence,” she says with a smile.

That defining moment came early in the Masaraat journey, during their first major event. “Seeing the venue come to life, our team moving in harmony, and our clients overwhelmed with happiness that was the moment we knew Masaraat was more than a business,” Maryam recalls. “It was something deeply human, a connection built through trust, creativity, and emotion.”
Balancing creativity, leadership, and strategy is at the heart of her daily routine. “Creativity gives life to ideas, leadership gives them structure, and strategy makes them sustainable,” she explains. Each day, she moves between imagination and execution, brainstorming new designs in the morning, managing operations through the day, and reflecting on lessons learned by evening. “Creativity is freedom,” she says, “but discipline turns it into success.”

As a woman entrepreneur in Kuwait, Maryam faced her share of challenges, particularly earning respect in an industry traditionally dominated by men. “There were moments when we weren’t taken seriously,” she admits. “But we let our work speak louder.” With every successful event, Masaraat built credibility, transforming skepticism into admiration. “Consistency became our strongest voice.”
Today, Masaraat represents more than luxury or aesthetics. It is a platform that amplifies the work of other women-led businesses florists, photographers, planners, and designers, creating a ripple effect across the creative community. “When one woman succeeds, many others rise with her,” Maryam says proudly.
Her motivation comes from purpose and the people around her. “When things get tough, I remind myself why we started to create, to empower, to make moments matter.” Her inspiration, she says, comes from the women in her life, her co-founders, family, and peers who embody courage, resilience, and authenticity. “They remind me that leadership isn’t about taking the spotlight, but sharing it.”
Looking ahead, Maryam envisions expanding Masaraat’s reach, introducing themed experiences that merge design, technology, and sustainability. “We’re building not just events, but movements,” she explains. “Our next milestone is to grow while mentoring young women entering the creative field to pass the torch forward.”

Being part of the Porsche EmpowerHER initiative reaffirmed her belief in ambition without limits. “It reminded me that passion and purpose can coexist,” she reflects. “Being surrounded by strong women who are shaping the future of business and creativity reignited my drive to build something lasting.”
Her message to aspiring entrepreneurs is both simple and profound: “Start, even if it’s not perfect. Progress builds clarity. Every step you take creates the path you’re meant to walk.”
Through Masaraat, Maryam Khajah has turned celebration into art, and art into empowerment proving that when women lead with grace, courage, and collaboration, they redefine what success can look like for an entire community.
