BOSS PRESENTS first ART BASEL AWARDS
BOSS is proud to announce its role as Presenting Partner of the all-new Art Basel Awards, strengthening its connection with leading voices in contemporary art and culture.
Unlike conventional awards recognizing singular achievements, the Art Basel Awards honor impactful artistic practices and those driving transformative cultural change. They celebrate innovative artists creating boundary-crossing works, as well as the organizations and individuals supporting them.
Through its partnership with Art Basel, BOSS seeks to recognize creativity, vision, and collective strength. The Awards aim to nurture a self-sustaining ecosystem and alumni network, powering the future of art.
Supporting contemporary art is integral to HUGO BOSS, fostering interaction between fashion and art to inspire global dialogue.
“Fashion and art are deeply connected, and art is part of our DNA. HUGO BOSS has a 30-year history of art sponsorship, and with BOSS supporting the Art Basel Awards, we elevate this commitment. With its premium positioning and global relevance, Art Basel is the perfect partner,” said Daniel Grieder, CEO of HUGO BOSS.
The Art Basel Awards feature nine categories: three for artists—Emerging, Established, and Iconic—and six for key players behind the scenes, including curators, institutions, patrons, allies, cross-disciplinary creators, and media.
Chaired by Vincenzo de Bellis, Art Basel’s Director of Fairs and Exhibition Platforms, an International Jury will award Medals to 36 individuals and organizations. Through a peer-to-peer review, these Medalists will select 12 Gold Medalists—six artists and six industry-wide collaborators—who exemplify the Awards’ vision.
Medals unlock extraordinary opportunities for creation, exhibition, and patronage. Gold Medalists in the Emerging category will showcase work at a global institution, those in the Established category will receive a major Art Basel commission, and Icons will participate in a mentorship program.
“The Art Basel Awards underline our commitment to industry leadership through innovation and impact. This initiative expands opportunities for key players, fosters collaboration, and connects with our growing audience. We are thrilled to partner with BOSS to celebrate the cutting-edge work shaping the future of art,” said Noah Horowitz, CEO, Art Basel.
The 36 Medalists will be announced in May and celebrated in June at Art Basel’s flagship fair in Basel, Switzerland. The 12 Gold Medalists will be honored in December at an exclusive Art Basel Miami Beach event.
