As representatives of CP magazine, we were graciously invited to partake in an extraordinary culinary adventure at ROKA Kuwait. Stepping into this contemporary Japanese restaurant, we were immediately captivated by the modern industrial ambiance, boasting raw exposed ceilings and concrete brick wall finishes. The restaurant exudes an inviting energy that sets the stage for an unforgettable dining experience.

The heart and soul of ROKA is the traditional Japanese robata grill, which takes center stage in the vast dining area. This captivating centerpiece not only mesmerizes the eyes but also infuses the air with the enticing aroma of charcoal-grilled delicacies. Co-founder and creator Rainer Becker’s vision of bringing the robata grill to life outside of London has undoubtedly found its place of glory in ROKA Kuwait.

Embarking on a beverage journey, we began with ROKA’s alcohol-free sparkling wine, first savoring the Alternativa Rose Sparkling Wine. The effervescent blush pink elixir delighted the senses with its delicate floral notes, offering a refreshing prelude to the meal.

For a change of palette, we ventured to the Alternativa White Sparkling Wine. Its crispness and lively citrus undertones perfectly complemented the upcoming courses, adding a touch of effervescence to our dining experience.

Our culinary adventure commenced with a symphony of flavors through the Kampachi Salad. The tantalizing blend of yellowtail fish, avocado, yuzu truffle dressing, and crunchy green beans ensured a harmonious balance of textures and tastes that lingered on the palate.

Next, the King Crab Salad graced our table with its captivating presentation. Sweetcorn and chili lemon dressing infused the succulent king crab with a zesty zest, elevating this dish to a delightful revelation of tastes and textures.

A Japanese culinary affair would not be complete without Sweet Potato Tempura. The skillful preparation ensured a crisp and light coating enveloping the tender sweet potato, making this dish a remarkable balance of indulgence and subtlety.

The Beef Gyoza showcased ROKA’s respect for tradition, as each dumpling was crafted with precision and finesse. The succulent beef filling, seasoned to perfection, was wrapped in delicate gyoza skin, making every bite a testament to the artistry of Japanese dumplings.
