Sabrina, can you tell us about your journey into the world of art advisory and curation? What sparked your passion for this field?
I have always been passionate about art and once my career began at UNESCO in the cultural field, where I had several hats, I was very happy to enhance African visual artists during temporary exhibitions. Following that, international corporate clients and private collectors contacted me to advise them on specific genre.
Can you describe your role as an art advisor and curator? What are some of the key responsibilities you undertake in this position?
Art is a reflection of identity, culture and style. I provide expert guidance on the acquisition of artworks. Enquiries are treated on a personal basis and Tailor-made solutions are developed for each client whether it be a corporate office, hospitality space, private residence, museum. Through confidential, in-depth consultations, I determine a client’s needs and draw out a strategy that can be immediate or long term. I also curate temporary exhibitions in unique venues and promote contemporary artists. I love to design original projects where fine art is unexpected.
How do you approach the process of curating an art event? Can you walk us through your creative and logistical process?
I source a talent and create a series of works that will be displayed. From the creation of marketing content, the installation of the works, until the reception of the guests then the post-sale administrative formalities: delivery of certificate of authenticity, my goal is for the client to be satisfied.
What was the most challenging art event you’ve organized, and how did you overcome the obstacles you faced?
The good thing is that, with the right attitude, learning from difficulties can bring so much more, than the pain caused by the actual challenges. The most challenging event I had to face was my first exhibition organized in UNESCO, time was very short, and the spectators were of high rank, ambassadors, and political figures so it was very stressful!
Could you share some insights into your collaboration with the French Embassy in the UAE for the Art Talk with the artist?
I am French and I was very proud of being part of this private event with His Excellency N. Niemtchinow, Ambassador of France to UAE. The talk was on the sidelines of the fair Art Dubai and the knowledge was sharp. There was a live painting of an artist that I represent. The audience is intrigued by the painting process because creativity is expressed before their eyes. That event was a great success.
You’ve contributed to artistic events at La Cantine du Faubourg and Novotel Healthcare City in Dubai. How do you choose the venues for your events, and what factors do you consider?
Hospitality groups contact me. I have built a reputation for exhibiting cutting-edge art. It’s very important that the venue is compatible with the genre of the artist. The works must be in harmony with the place.
Your collaboration with Le Louvre Abu Dhabi Boutique involved customizing souvenir items. Can you elaborate on this project and its significance?
When we visit a museum, as a tourist or an art lover, we want to bring back a souvenir of this visit. The idea was to offer the visitor a tote bag, coasters and notebooks that reflects the Middle East as well as the artistic touch of a famous contemporary artist. Through his naive art, Ihab made the camel’s head a playful and joyful object.
What were some highlights from your role as the curator of Ana Liz Cordero exhibitions?
We have created exhibitions in original venues: for example, in the Time for Better COP28 Hope House in Dubai, the visitors had the chance to meet her and speak about her commitment to sustainability. The audience was amazed by this eco-friendly artist.
How do you assist art collectors in identifying their needs and building their collections? What strategies do you use?
I work as an “art concierge”: a new approach to investing in art and curating a personal collection. It includes a range of bespoke services: acquiring a stand-out piece, building a solid collection, and navigating the art market on the behalf of the collector. Guided by his interests – whether cutting-edge emerging artists, or 20th century masters – I cater to any niche, offering trusted art investment advice.
What advice would you give to new art collectors about investing in art and building a meaningful collection?
It is important to keep up to date with current trends in the art market. Works by young, up-and-coming artists are generally the most sought after, as they are likely to increase in value as their fame grows. Additionally, works by emerging artists can be a good option because they are less expensive and can appreciate in value quickly.
How do you source artwork in the international market, and what are some challenges you face in this process?
I have a strong network of galleries and auction houses in France, USA, and Asia. I would say that the biggest challenge is logistics: planning a viewing, take care of transport and insurance. It’s tough but with patience, I have been able to get out of complicated situations.
Could you discuss your approach to developing sales strategies for the secondary art market?
It’s all about trust, once the client recognizes the expertise and my value, we expand the collection.
How important is social media in today’s art world?
Social networks have a significant role, they allow rapid access to information and popularize the art world which used to be very closed. It helps educate people and I am very happy of it. You can contact me by DM to book a consultation.
How do your educational background and previous work experiences (e.g., Law master’s degree from La Sorbonne) contribute to your current role?
I provide legal services, I write contracts for my clients (galleries, brands…) and protect rights of both parties. This skill is unique in the field.
What are your future plans and aspirations in the field of art advisory and curation? Are there any upcoming projects you’re excited about?
I am delighted to announce that I have created a showroom in Dubai and several artists are displayed. Feel free to contact me for a private tour!
How do you stay inspired and continue to grow professionally in such a dynamic and ever-changing field?
I like to go off the beaten back and create unexpected projects. I can integrate art into any environment: fashion, food & beverage, jewelry. I am currently working on a crazy project with lab-grown diamonds, more information to come.
What is your favourite holiday destination and why?
I love going to Paris and South of France. Beauty is everywhere: landscapes, architecture, gastronomy, fashion.

I do yoga every day and I also love photography
