Seoul Food, Second Serving: A Return to Sinjeon Topokki Kuwait

Revisiting a restaurant for a second review is a rare endeavour for us at CP Magazine, reserved only for establishments that leave an indelible mark on our culinary experiences. Sinjeon Topokki Kuwait is one such place that beckoned us back, compelling us to delve deeper into its offerings. Our initial visit during its soft opening introduced us to a vibrant slice of Korean street food culture nestled within the Marsana Complex. This time, accompanied by two colleagues for an early dinner, we sought to explore the depth and consistency of Sinjeon’s culinary repertoire.

Upon entering Sinjeon Topokki Kuwait, the harmonious blend of modern design with traditional Korean elements immediately sets a welcoming tone. The bamboo-lined pathway leading to the entrance evokes a serene prelude to the dining experience. Inside, the interior balances contemporary aesthetics with subtle nods to Korean culture, creating an environment that is both chic and comfortable. The staff’s warm greetings and attentive service further enhance the inviting atmosphere, making patrons feel valued and at ease.​

A returning favourite, the Garlic Honey Korean Fried Chicken reaffirmed its status as a standout dish. The juxtaposition of the crunchy exterior with the succulent meat inside created a delightful textural contrast, while the glaze provided a balanced sweetness that was neither overpowering nor cloying. Sinjeon Cheese Kimbap

The creamy, slightly salty cheese complemented the subtle tang of the rice, resulting in a comforting and indulgent bite. Concluding our meal, we indulged in the Chapsal Tteok, a recent addition to Sinjeon’s dessert offerings. These glutinous rice cakes, known for their chewy texture, were subtly sweetened and served in a manner that highlighted their delicate flavour. The simplicity of the dessert allowed the natural taste of the rice to shine, providing a gentle and satisfying end to our culinary journey.
