Creative Hearts, One Vision
Assia and Soumaya Bayoud, famously known as the Bayoud Twins, are not just sisters – they are each other’s creative partners, closest friends, and lifelong collaborators. Born and raised in Morocco and now based in Chicago, these multi-talented twins are building a life where design, fashion, culture, and content creation intersect seamlessly.
Their journey as twins has always been fully intertwined. Whether it’s their shared studies, their creative projects, or their everyday routines, Assia and Soumaya have rarely done anything apart. They’ve taken the same classes, pursued the same career path, and consistently worked side by side. Their passion for interior architecture brought them to Chicago, where they are currently in their final year of study and set to graduate in 2026. It’s a dream they’ve built together and one they intend to take even further.

But their ambitions don’t stop at their studies. The Bayoud Twins are well-known content creators and YouTubers, sharing their love for fashion, home décor, and, perhaps most notably, Moroccan cooking. Through their vibrant content, they invite their growing international audience into their world – a world where creativity thrives, where family is always at the heart, and where their Moroccan heritage is proudly celebrated.
When asked to describe each other, Assia called Soumaya “optimistic, adventurous, and supportive,” while Soumaya described Assia as “organised, caring, and creative.” It’s a perfect reflection of the balance they bring to each other’s lives. They both admit to being a little mischievous, often getting into playful trouble together, but also confess they know when to step in as peacemakers, especially when situations get tense.
Their twin bond is filled with stories that perfectly capture the magic of being a twin. One of their favourites dates back to school when one of them secretly took a math test on behalf of the other and successfully passed. “That’s just part of being twins,” they laugh. “If we can’t share our strengths, what’s the point?”

Despite their shared passions, their personalities offer contrast. Assia leans more toward structure and organisation, while Soumaya is the spontaneous spirit, comfortable embracing the unexpected. “We complement each other,” they say. “One of us is more extroverted, always seeking social moments, while the other prefers quiet reflection.” But competition? That’s not part of their story. They’ve never felt the need to outdo each other instead, they’ve always worked as a team.
Their love for being twins has only deepened over the years, especially after moving to the United States. “When we arrived here, far from our family, my twin truly became my home,” Assia reflects. “I realised how rare and beautiful our bond really is.”
Of course, being twins comes with its lighter, funny challenges. For these two, one frequent debate is over clothes. They have a shared passion for unique fashion pieces, which often leads to spirited negotiations over who gets to wear what, especially when they both fall in love with the same item. “We’ve had moments where we’ve completely changed our outfits just because of one piece we couldn’t agree on,” they laugh. “But that’s part of the fun of being twins who share everything including our taste.”

Their birthdays have always been celebrated together, and they plan to continue this tradition for life, imagining future celebrations with their partners and children. “We can’t imagine celebrating apart,” they say.
When asked what talent they’d love to steal from each other, Soumaya immediately chose Assia’s incredible ability to declutter and organise – a skill that’s especially useful in their shared work. Assia, on the other hand, admires Soumaya’s talent for improvisation and quick thinking, particularly in creative or challenging situations.
Their connection is so strong that they often sense each other’s emotions, even from a distance. “It’s hard to explain, but we feel it instantly,” they agree. This unspoken understanding even extends to non-verbal communication. “We can have full conversations with just a glance,” they say, describing how a simple look can convey a thousand words.

Their favourite family story is a childhood prank that still makes everyone laugh. When one of them got into a playground scuffle with a neighbour’s son, she quickly ran home, changed her clothes, and pretended to be the other twin when the boy’s mother came over to complain. “My mum almost started scolding me until the neighbour insisted she had the wrong twin, all because I was now wearing a different outfit!” It’s a story their family continues to cherish.
If a movie were ever made about their lives, they dream of being played by Zendaya – a creative, confident figure they both admire. Though they secretly admit, “If we could play ourselves, we would.”
Their teamwork extends far beyond school and social media. One of their proudest joint accomplishments was renovating their older sister’s apartment from top to bottom while she was away on holiday. They repainted walls, replaced floors, bought new furniture, and transformed the space in just a few weeks. “It was a crazy, exhausting project but we wouldn’t have been able to pull it off without each other.”

They also enjoy debunking one of the biggest twin myths: that twins can feel each other’s physical pain. “We know each other’s moods, but we definitely can’t feel each other’s headaches,” they joke.
In a rapid-fire round, they revealed more about their day-to-day twin life: they’ve often swapped places in school, always celebrate their birthdays together, and intentionally dress alike more often than not. Assia claims the title of the more organised twin, while Soumaya prefers a relaxed approach. Both agree, without hesitation, that they would happily choose to be twins again in another life.
When it comes to disagreements, apologies aren’t usually needed. “We just start talking like nothing happened,” they explain. “That’s how it’s always been.”
The Bayoud Twins are the perfect example of a partnership built on love, creativity, and unshakeable trust. Their story is one of shared dreams, cultural pride, and the kind of twinship where two hearts truly beat in harmony.
