Altaf Almutairi – Finalist of EmpowerHER 2025

Merging creativity with data – driving the future of fashion and retail innovation.

For Altaf Hendi Almutairi, entrepreneurship began with a conviction that the Gulf’s creative energy deserved a global stage. She saw immense design talent in the region, visionary brands and innovators whose work reflected culture and ambition yet many lacked the structure, visibility, and data to grow beyond local borders. From that insight, she founded LBM Group, a fashion management company connecting Middle Eastern creativity with European markets through collaboration, analytics, and strategy.

That vision later gave rise to Retail Brain, a SaaS platform merging fashion and technology. By turning years of experience into data-driven tools, Retail Brain helps brands understand consumers, streamline operations, and make smarter decisions. “The idea was simple,” Altaf explains. “To prove that creativity and data can coexist that technology can empower imagination, not limit it.”

Her journey reflects innovation in its purest form. “True innovation means the courage to reshape industries,” she says. Through LBM Group, Altaf has modernised how GCC brands approach production and market expansion, while Retail Brain bridges intuition and insight, giving regional entrepreneurs the analytical edge once reserved for global houses.

For Altaf, empowerment is both personal and collective. “Empowerment means giving others the confidence and tools to rise,” she says. Within her companies, that belief translates into mentorship programmes, leadership roles for women, and a culture that rewards creativity and critical thinking. Personally, empowerment is the quiet certainty of driving change beyond limitations, “It’s about using what you’ve learned to open doors for others.”

Among Porsche’s values of excellence, innovation, and performance, innovation resonates most. “Innovation is movement,” she says. “It’s what keeps industries alive. Porsche and I share that philosophy, progress through precision and passion.” It is the principle behind both ventures: LBM’s mission to re-engineer fashion management and Retail Brain’s goal to bring intelligence and structure to creativity.

A defining moment came with the launch of Retail Brain. “It was the moment theory became reality,” she recalls. “Seeing data empower creative decisions proved that art and analytics could speak the same language.” That milestone validated years of work and marked her transition from visionary entrepreneur to industry innovator.

Operating in Kuwait’s evolving retail landscape brought challenges. Data infrastructure was limited, and many brands worked without insights for sustainable growth. Altaf turned each obstacle into innovation. “The challenge was never creativity; it was structure,” she says. By introducing scalable systems, advocating transparency, and integrating AI tools, she built a bridge between local designers and global markets. “Every challenge became an opportunity to rewrite how business is done.”

Her work has made a tangible difference. LBM has helped Gulf brands expand abroad, while Retail Brain continues to transform how companies measure success less by instinct, more by information. Together, they nurture a new generation of entrepreneurs who view fashion as both art and enterprise. “Our mission is to make creative ambition sustainable,” Altaf says.

Her inspiration comes from observing markets from Paris to Riyadh and learning how culture shapes commerce. She credits mentors and peers for believing in her ability to merge two worlds. “Their trust taught me resilience and clarity,” she reflects.

Looking ahead, Altaf aims to position LBM as a regional hub for fashion innovation and scale Retail Brain across the GCC and Europe. “We’re developing new intersections between data, design, and AI,” she says. “The goal is to shape the future of retail, not follow it.”

Being part of Porsche’s EmpowerHER reminded her that empowerment and excellence go hand in hand. “It celebrates women who lead with intellect and emotion,” she says. “When women have platforms, they don’t just participate they transform industries.”

Her message to aspiring women entrepreneurs is clear: “Don’t wait for perfect conditions. Start where you are. Believe in your voice – it’s your greatest asset.”

Through LBM Group and Retail Brain, Altaf Hendi Al-Mutairi proves that creativity and technology together can redefine an entire industry, a story of ambition, innovation, and leadership that turns vision into progress.
