The Countdown to the World’s Most Iconic Airport Begins

Limak Holding reaffirms its commitment to Kuwait’s Vision 2035 during His Highness the Emir of Kuwait’s official state visit to Türkiye

Limak were honoured by the presence of H.H. the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, during his official state visit to Türkiye. During the visit, Limak’s partnership with Kuwait on the new Kuwait International Airport Terminal 2 was consolidated as it enters the final stages of construction.

This statement follows the generous commendation by H.H. the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, where the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) quoted His Highness’s remarks on May 7, 2024, during the official discussion session between the two countries: “…We are proud of the efforts of the Turkish company Limak, which is undertaking the implementation of the new Kuwait International Airport Terminal project.”

The new Kuwait International Airport Terminal 2 (T2) will serve as a symbol of Kuwait’s progress and modernity and move the country one step closer to achieving its vision of becoming a financial and trade hub—supporting the country’s aim to increase foreign investment.

Chair of the Board of Limak Holding, Ms. Ebru Özdemir, said: “We are thrilled to support the development of Kuwait and realize the ambitious vision of H.H. the Emir of Kuwait. For us, Kuwait is a home-away-from-home, and our commitment to its social and economic growth is deep-rooted. For the project to be sustainable and deliver economic benefits for the local economy and people, it’s important for it to be managed by Kuwaitis. Additionally, through the T2 project, we launched the Kuwait Women’s Economic Empowerment Platform (KWEEP), which aims to inspire and foster positive change in women’s employment and leadership within the Kuwaiti private sector.”

Ms. Özdemir continued: “I would like to thank KDIPA and the government of Kuwait for their continuous support and enablement, allowing us to operate effectively in Kuwait and contribute towards the goals of Vision 2035. Their proactive approach to creating an attractive environment for foreign investors has been instrumental for our operations and underscores Kuwait’s commitment to economic development.”
