Kuwait’s appetite for Korean cuisine shows no sign of slowing, yet few restaurants balance authenticity, creativity and hospitality quite like Seoulian. On our latest visit, the CP Magazine team discovered a place where crisp fried chicken, comforting noodles and heartfelt service come together under the watchful eye of passionate hands.

There are restaurants that simply serve food, and then there are restaurants that create a feeling people want to return to. Seoulian belongs firmly in the second category. In a market increasingly filled with concepts chasing trends, this Korean favourite stands apart through personality, consistency and the kind of warmth that cannot be manufactured.
When the CP Magazine team visited on a pleasant evening, the outdoor seating offered the ideal setting to enjoy Kuwait’s still-generous weather. The atmosphere was easy-going and inviting, with diners chatting over platters of fried chicken and steaming bowls of noodles while the evening moved at an unhurried pace. It felt lively without being loud, casual without sacrificing care.

From the moment we arrived, the tone was set by attentive and genuinely friendly service. Every interaction felt sincere rather than scripted. There was pride in the recommendations, confidence in the menu and a clear desire to ensure guests enjoyed themselves. That sense of personal hospitality is no accident. Seoulian is led by owner Eunae, affectionately known by many regulars as Seoulian Mommy, whose hands-on presence and personal involvement have helped shape the restaurant’s welcoming identity. It is rare to find an owner so closely connected to the day-to-day guest experience, and it shows.
Adding to that experience was Head Chef Harsha, who personally checked on our table during the meal to ask whether the dishes and overall experience met expectations. It was a thoughtful gesture and one that reflected a kitchen proud of its work. More importantly, the confidence was justified. The food throughout the evening was assured, flavourful and executed with care.

We began with the Open Dumpling Beef and Cheese, a playful starter that immediately set expectations high. Crisp dumpling shells acted as the base for savoury beef and melted cheese, creating layers of crunch, richness and comfort in every bite. It was indulgent without becoming heavy, and clever enough to feel distinct rather than gimmicky.

Next came the Seoul Chicken, a dish that quickly became one of the table’s favourites. Fried chicken and rice cakes were coated in a glossy sweet-and-spicy sauce that struck an excellent balance between heat and sweetness. The chicken retained its crispness beneath the glaze, while the rice cakes added their signature chew and turned the plate into something deeply satisfying. It captured the joy of Korean street food with confidence and flair.

The Sweet Chili Butter Shrimp brought a different dimension to the meal. Succulent prawns were enveloped in a buttery sauce sharpened by sweet chilli, resulting in a dish that felt rich yet lively. The sweetness never overwhelmed, the spice never dominated, and the prawns remained tender and fresh. It was polished comfort food with broad appeal.

For our final savoury dish, the Kimchi Udon Noodles delivered warmth and substance. Thick udon noodles absorbed the sharp, fermented depth of kimchi beautifully, while shiitake mushrooms introduced an earthy note and boiled egg added richness. This was perhaps the most comforting dish of the evening, generous, balanced and ideal for those who appreciate bold flavour without excessive heaviness.
Beyond the dishes we sampled, Seoulian’s menu offers plenty of reasons to return. Korean sandwiches, loaded fries, rice bowls and further fried chicken creations all looked tempting, designed for both casual lunches and more indulgent group dinners. Particularly noteworthy is their growing line of Seoulian Goodies, house-made items that allow guests to bring part of the experience home. Products such as Carrot Kimchi and Kimchi Mayo speak to a brand that understands modern diners want flavour beyond the restaurant table. It is a smart extension of the Seoulian identity and one that regulars will appreciate.
What makes Seoulian memorable, however, is not only the menu. It is the combination of personality and professionalism. The owner’s visible care, the chef’s attention to guest feedback, and a front-of-house team that treats hospitality seriously all elevate the experience beyond a casual meal. Many restaurants can produce one good dish; fewer can create an environment where diners feel genuinely looked after. Seoulian manages both.

As the CP Magazine team finished the evening, one thing was clear: Seoulian has earned its loyal following through substance rather than hype. It offers flavour-packed food, thoughtful service and the kind of human touch that modern dining often forgets. In a city with endless options, that combination is powerful.
And as we left, already discussing what to order next time, it became equally clear that this would not be our last visit.
